Bruno Fernandes Should NOT Be Manchester United Captain, Says Roy Keane

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has received pressure from Roy Keane to depose Bruno Fernandes as team captain. In July, Fernandes, 29, took Harry Maguire’s spot as United’s captain after the England defender was dropped from Ten Hag’s starting lineup. However, Keane, who famously led United to a treble-winning season in 1998–1999, does not think Fernandes is “captain material”. “When you’re talking about where do they make changes – board level, managers – I’d start with that because the manager is capable of doing that. “Fernandes is a brilliant footballer but he’s the opposite to what you want in a captain.” Sunday’s defeat left United eighth in the Premier League table with just 15 points from the first 10 rounds of fixtures this season.
