Diogo Dalot is feeling confident ahead of Manchester United’s must-win Champions League clash vs Copenhagen this evening.
The defender is likely still running off the adrenaline of his heroics on Saturday when his sensational, curled finish clinched all three points for the Reds against Sheffield United.
Whilst he would undoubtedly love to do the same again tonight, he’ll also be hoping that the attackers can get the job done early doors. Rasmus Hojlund is already on three goals in the competition so far, and there’s no better time to add to his tally than now.
After two straight defeats, United sit rock bottom of Group A on zero points, hence why a draw tonight just wouldn’t be enough.
Dalot looking to build momentum
Dalot spoke with MUTV following the Blades victory and touched on the importance of progressing in Europe, as well as building momentum so that the team perform in all competitions.
“I’m excited,” he began. “I think we feel confident that we have a good chance to get the three points that will build us some momentum to go into the next games. Obviously, we want to go through this competition, we want to go through the group stage and we have to win games, and this will be a good opportunity for us to do it.
“It will give us a lot of strength [the atmosphere at Old Trafford], I’m sure. I think that these fans are known for that, as giving us the power sometimes when things are not going so well, to put us back on track and get us standing again and facing the challenge that we have during the game. And I think it will be a great atmosphere for us to play with, on a fantastic European evening.
”I think that’s what the fans love as well and hopefully we can all together, all combined, we can win the game.”
