City currently sit third in the table.
Both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have already won their games this weekend, and City could do with three points to keep pace with the north London clubs.
City have tended to get the better of United in recent years.
Last time out, of course, City beat their rivals 2-1 in the FA Cup final back in June.
Erik ten Hag’s side will be desperate to get one over on City, if anything to really kickstart their season.

Erling Haaland sends ominous message ahead of Manchester Derby
City will hope their superstar striker will have brought his shooting boots with him today.
Since coming back from the international break, Erling Haaland has been back in the goals for City, scoring against Brighton and then hitting a brace against Young Boys in the Champions League.
The Norwegian sensation –– has actually not been firing on all cylinders this season, but has still bagged 11 in 14 games across all competitions.

Haaland did not score in this fixture last season.
But he did hit a hat-trick against United in the game at the Etihad, which City won 6-3.
He will be absolutely determined to make a big impact today, and he has issued a brief message ahead of the contest.

There is no doubt about it – Haaland will be so determined to get on the scoresheet today.
When he first signed for the club, he mentioned that the Derby was the game he was most looking forward to.
