According to a report from skysport, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain. It was stated in the report that Graham Potter, the former manager of Chelsea and Brighton, is currently in a holding pattern, awaiting an official approach from Napoli. However, he is also keeping his options open, as he is attentive to any potential interest from the Red Devils in the event that sir jim Ratcliffe decides to dismiss Erik ten Hag.
The Impressive Rise Of Graham Potter As A Manager
Potter began his managerial career in Sweden with Östersunds FK, where he led the club from the fourth tier to the Europa League in just seven years. He then moved to England, where he managed Swansea City for a season before taking over at Brighton & Hove Albion in 2019.
At Brighton, Potter quickly transformed the team into one of the most attractive and attack-minded sides in the Premier League. He led the club to record finishes in the league in 2021/22 and 2022/23, and he was also named Premier League Manager of the Month on two occasions. In September 2022, Potter was appointed manager of Chelsea replacing Thomas Tuchel. He was tasked with leading the club back to the top of English football but was later sacked as the Blues only finished twelfth in the league standings.
