One of the biggest Premier League derbies is set for Sunday, with Manchester United hosting Manchester City.
Man Utd has recovered from consecutive defeats against Palace and Galatasaray — the latter a particularly messy affair — to win three straight. However, the Red Devils’ 1-0 Champions League win over FC Copenhagen was emblematic of just about everything for Erik ten Hag’s side these days. It’s never easy, but a win over the noisy neighbors would certainly be a big help.
Casemiro seems more likely than not to return from injury, but the Brazil midfielder’s status will apparently go down to the wire.
Man City, meanwhile, briefly experienced a Champions League wobble, briefly finding itself level with Young Boys on Wednesday before eventually running out 3-1 winners in Switzerland. A win at Old Trafford is a must if the club is to keep pace with Tottenham, who took a five-point lead atop the Premier League on Friday with a win at Crystal Palace
Center back Manuel Akanji is suspended, but other than the Swiss international and Kevin De Bruyne (long-term hamstring injury), all signs point to Man City being at full strength.
