Ladies and gentlemen, it’s Derby Day, and a lot of Manchester United supporters are anxious about what could happen. At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag will be trying to win the derby twice in a row. Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford’s goals helped United win the previous season
But this season, the team is very different. In addition to bringing in high-profile players like Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund, Ten Hag has also let go of some of our regular derby offenders. However, we believe that a player who hasn’t played much this season could benefit greatly from this matchup. Ten Hag ought to consider allowing him to play right away.
On Derby Day, Hannibal Mejbri might be the perfect addition for Ten Hag. That’s correct; we believe Hannibal Mejbri would be a wise selection in the matchup with Manchester City. The Tunisian adds intensity and passion to a derby, just like a midfielder should.
In the middle, he is an absolute workhorse. During his brief appearances this season, it was observed that he possessed exceptional running statistics. With players like Raphael Varane and Casemiro reaching retirement age and Pep Guardiola’s team capable of wearing you out, Hannibal might be used as an extra man this season. He would benefit greatly from sitting next to Casemiro now, as it would relieve some of the pressure on the aging Brazilian. Although Mason Mount is the favorite to start, we believe the 20-year-old may be more appropriate given the onslaught of attacks that City will be unleashing.
